Hyaluronic acid infiltration is a treatment indicated mainly to relieve pain and improve mobility in joints affected by degenerative processes, such as osteoarthritis.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally present in synovial fluid, whose function is to lubricate and cushion the joint. With the passage of time or due to certain pathologies, its concentration and quality decrease, favoring friction, stiffness and pain.
Through intra-articular infiltration, hyaluronic acid is administered directly into the affected joint, with the aim of improving lubrication, reducing inflammation and promoting better joint function. This can translate into a decrease in pain and an improvement in the patient's quality of life.
The procedure is performed in consultation, under conditions of maximum asepsis and after an individualized medical assessment, forming part of a therapeutic plan adapted to each case.
